  • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • Extra chopped pecans
  • Sea salt flakes
  • Drizzled caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour and brown sugar; cut in cold butter until crumbly. Press into the prepared pan.
  3. Sprinkle pecan halves over the crust.
  4. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat until bubbling; stir for 1 minute until golden.
  5. Pour caramel over crust and pecans; bake for 18-20 minutes until bubbly.
  6. Remove from oven, sprinkle chocolate chips on top, let them soften, then spread evenly.
  7. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
