  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/3 cup tomato paste
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken stock
  • 1 (15-ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a medium pot, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add finely diced onion and minced garlic; sauté until soft (4-5 minutes).
  2. Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1 minute to deepen flavor.
  3. Add chicken stock, diced tomatoes, sugar, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce to simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Stir in heavy cream and simmer for an additional 2 minutes.
